Troubleshooting BcalcOS: Where to Start

Not every Linux problem you encounter is a BcalcOS problem.

BcalcOS is built on Devuan and uses many applications and components maintained by other projects. Unfortunately, we cannot provide troubleshooting for every possible Linux issue.

Start with the basics

What happened?
What did you expect to happen?
Has the problem happened more than once?
Did anything change before the problem appeared?

Error messages should be captured.

Is it BcalcOS-specific?

If the problem involves a BcalcOS component, check the BcalcOS documentation and the More You Know vignettes.

BcalcOS-specific components include the installer, BcalcOS applications and maintenance tools, the BcalcOS repository, and BcalcOS configuration.

Discourse is available for questions and discussion. Community support is provided on a best-effort basis.

If you have found a confirmed BcalcOS bug, report it on GitHub. Provide as much information as practical.

Non-BcalcOS-specific components

For software that is not specific to BcalcOS, the software project’s own documentation may be the better source of information.
