Thanks for downloading and trying out BcalcOS!
This post is a quick orientation. BcalcOS is designed to be good-to-go out of the box but here are a few things worth knowing as you get started.
The Welcome Center
The Welcome Center appears on your desktop as an icon. It’s your starting point for installing optional software and performing basic system operations.
You can read more about it in BcalcOS Base Repo post.
A Few First Tasks
Three short guides in this First Steps section cover the basics:
Creating a Regular User Account why and how to set up a separate account for everyday use. The Welcome Center can do this for you.
Updating BcalcOS keeping your system current.
Installing Software where BcalcOS software comes from and how to install more.
Browse the rest of the More You Know category when you have time. The vignettes explain how the system works and why it’s put together the way it is.
Questions?
If you run into trouble or something isn’t clear, leave a message in the Help & Support category. That’s what it’s there for.
Again, welcome to BcalcOS!
